Cookie policy
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Some are needed for the site to work; others help us understand which comparisons are useful.
| Type | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep the site working — page delivery, security and your cookie choices. | Session to 12 months |
| Analytics | Aggregate measurement of which pages and products are useful. | Up to 24 months |
| Affiliate | Set by affiliate networks and retailers to attribute a sale to a referral (not active yet). | Typically 7 to 30 days |
Affiliate cookies
Once affiliate partnerships are active, clicking a retailer link may cause the retailer or its affiliate network to set a cookie so that any purchase you make is credited to this site. No affiliate cookies are set at present. Blocking these cookies will not change the price you pay, and you can still buy as normal. See the affiliate disclosure for more.
Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a setting for third-party cookies specifically. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site working. Details of what we do with the resulting data are in our privacy policy.
